Our production technologies

We shape your product ideas into almost any form imaginable. Discover our wide range of services and technologies – designed to support your business.

Die casting technologies

We use state-of-the-art cold and hot chamber machines with clamping forces up to several hundred tons. Whether small or large components, our technologies enable cost-efficient, repeatable, and highly precise die-cast parts made of zinc and aluminium with extremely tight tolerances.
All parts can be prepared in-house for further finishing, including polishing and grinding, ensuring optimal quality for subsequent surface treatments.

Zinc die casting

Zinc die casting is ideal for precise, geometrically complex, and decorative components. With outstanding dimensional accuracy, strength, and coating compatibility, zinc is perfect for visible parts and high-volume functional components. But even at lower production volumes, zinc die casting remains economical and sustainable.
Zinc is a naturally occurring raw material that can be recycled indefinitely without quality loss. It is also easy to separate during waste processing – an ecological benefit we maximise through the consistent use of recycled zinc alloys in our foundries.
Zinc’s relatively low melting point reduces energy consumption during casting. Combined with short cycle times for alloys like Zamak, this makes the process highly efficient.
Another advantage is zinc’s excellent fluidity when molten, combined with high strength after solidification – ideal for intricate, thin-walled, and elegant parts.
Zinc alloys are also easy to finish, whether through electroplating or other coatings. In short: zinc die casting is cost-efficient, visually appealing, and highly versatile – perfect for reproducible series production.

Aluminium die casting

Aluminium die-cast components offer a lightweight solution with high tensile strength and excellent thermal conductivity. This process is especially suited for structural parts, technical housings, or components that require heat resistance and minimal weight.
Thanks to its corrosion resistance, aluminium die casting is widely used in the automotive, construction, and electronics industries. Its thermal properties make it ideal for heat-sensitive components such as LED housings or heat sinks.
Aluminium’s electrical conductivity also makes it suitable for electrical applications. Environmentally, aluminium is nearly 100% recyclable and generates less waste compared to traditional CNC machining – making it a sustainable choice.
Aluminium parts can be anodised, painted, or even electroplated – providing a wide range of high-performance coating options.

Electroplating

Our in-house electroplating facility is one of the largest in Europe. Through electroplated coating, your components gain not only a high-end decorative surface, but also long-lasting protection against corrosion, abrasion, and dirt.
The processes are fully automated and environmentally conscious, with strict controls to meet sustainability and quality standards. The result: durable, visually stunning components for both decorative and technical use.
We offer this expertise as part of complete projects – or as contract plating services.

CNC machining

Using CNC machining centres and robotic systems, we ensure precision fit and a flawless appearance. Punching, milling, drilling, turning, and thread tapping – whatever your part needs, we deliver it with technical perfection.

Surface coating

Beyond electroplating, HDO offers a wide range of modern surface treatments:

  • Wet coating: Liquid paints in a variety of colours, ideal for decorative applications
  • Powder coating: Electrostatic application and baking for durable, uniform surfaces
  • Cathodic dip coating (CDC): Excellent corrosion protection even for complex shapes, often used as a base coat
  • PVD coating: Ultra-hard, scratch-resistant finishes with a premium metal look – vacuum-applied, eco-friendly, and decorative
  • Technical coatings: Including passivation, tailored to your application

Assembly & system integration

We assemble complete modules and integrate materials such as glass or wood. Every step is carefully controlled and optimised as needed. With HDO, quality doesn’t stop at the casting process – it includes how well your part integrates into the final product.

Development expertise for optimal die casting processes

Innovation starts here. Our team specialises in design optimisation for die-cast parts. Many components once deemed “impossible” by conventional foundries have been successfully realised by HDO – from highly complex geometries to demanding surface specifications.
With our development support, we ensure optimised processes and smooth series production.
Let’s talk about your project – and how we can contribute to its success!
